Who We Are

Welcome to the Dioceses of Ballarat and Sandhurst

The welcoming Aussie spirit of regional Victoria is legendary, and our diverse communities offer authentically Australian lifestyle and adventure opportunities, from culture and history to wildlife and the outdoors, sports, food, and wine, and all within reach of the world city of Melbourne.

With a total of 95 Primary Schools and 25 Secondary Schools, the Diocese of Ballarat is located on the western side of Victoria, while the Diocese of Sandhurst forms part of the central and northern regions of the state.

Catholic Education is inclusive and open to all who seek our values - students and teachers alike. We are very proud of the achievements and recognition our rural schools earn as a result of the desire to support the growth of each young person in our community through professional frameworks and modern facilities.

The Call to Adventure!

In 2022, proactive discussions took place to address the growing teacher shortage in Australia, developing into an exciting joint-initiative between the Dioceses of Ballarat and Sandhurst.

We want the call to adventure to ring loud to international teachers considering teaching abroad! In addition to welcoming new teachers to the growing townships and uniquely welcoming Australian culture of the area, an aspect of our partnerships with schools includes initiatives that promote the benefits of regional living and related incentives.

Actively seeking professionals to support the existing staff that work hard to provide top quality learning environments is essential for ensuring the best learning outcomes for each student in every classroom.
